Select merchandise is available to preorder on Pokémon Center prior to their release date. See Estimated Preorder Release Dates for a list of estimated shipment dates for Pokémon Center preorders.
When you place a preorder, you are authorizing Pokémon Center to take a future payment using the payment method details you provided during the checkout process. Pokémon Center will notify you before attempting to take payment for items which have been preordered.
A valid credit card is required to place preorders, and an authorization may be held until the product is available to ship. Charges will not post to the account until the item ships. Orders may be canceled if the credit card on file is not valid at the time of shipment.
Select promotions or Gifts-with-Purchase may not be eligible for preorders.

How do I preorder an item on Pokémon Center?
Items on Pokémon Center that are eligible for preorder will have "Preorder: Add to Cart/Basket" available on its product page. Proceed with adding the item to the cart and follow the steps to checkout.
If preordering multiple items, please place separate orders for each preorder item.
What types of payment methods can be used for preorders?
Valid credit or debit cards are accepted. Gift cards and PayPal cannot be used for preorders.
When will I be charged for a preorder?
An initial authorization charge of $5 (£5 for UK customers) will be placed on your payment method when your preorder is placed. This is to ensure that the payment method being used is valid. You may see this authorization charge drop after 5-7 business days.
We will not charge your card for your order until it has shipped. However, a reauthorization will appear 3-5 business days prior to shipping to ensure that the payment method is still valid.
Authorizations may last up to 30 days, depending on the financial institution. If you have questions about specific transactions on your account, please contact your bank.
When will my preorder ship?
See Estimated Preorder Release Dates for the list of estimated shipment dates for Pokémon Center preorders. When your order is ready to ship, you should receive a shipping confirmation email that has the tracking number for your order.
We do not have exact dates for preorder shipment or delivery. While Pokémon Center works diligently to ship products as close to the release date as possible, shipping times are subject to transit delays such as those due to weather.
How do I cancel my preorder?
You can only cancel a preorder before it is processed. Once your preorder has been processed and your payment method has been reauthorized, it cannot be canceled.
To cancel your preorder, follow the steps below:
- From the Order Details page, select the Cancel Preorder button.
- When prompted, confirm you want to cancel your preorder. On the Order Details page, the status will change to Canceled.
- You will be sent an email confirming your cancelation.
If you checked out as a Guest, you can still manage your preorder by visiting the Order Status page.
From the Order Status page, enter your Order ID and postal code. Your postal code must match the one used when placing your order. You should now have the option to cancel your preorder.
Please note the following:
- You can only cancel a preorder before it is processed. After requesting cancelation, please allow up to 24 hours for your order status to update.
- You will not be charged for a canceled preorder, but your card may show a temporary pending authorization hold. Funds will return to your account when the financial institution releases the hold.
- If you cancel a preorder item, we cannot guarantee the same item will be available for preorder again.
- Excluding final sale items, you may return any unwanted items that you were not able to cancel. See How do I return item(s) for a refund? for more information.
Can I change the address on my preorder?
Pokémon Center is unable to provide address changes for any preorders.
If you would like to change your address and the product is still available, you may cancel your preorder and place a new one with the proper address. Please note that we cannot guarantee that the product will be available for a new order.
My payment method has insufficient funds to cover the preorder. What do I do?
Once preorders begin processing, our team will make several attempts to charge your original payment method. To ensure you receive your items and your order is not canceled, please make sure you have sufficient funds available, and your payment method has not expired.
If we are unable to capture funds, you will receive an email with instructions on how to change your payment method. Please note that any change in payment method including transferring or depositing funds will result in a successful transaction and we will not be able to cancel your order. If changes are unable to be completed by the time preorders begin shipping, this will result in a canceled order.
Can I preorder different preorder items in the same transaction?
If a product is available for preorder, you may order it with other preorder items with the same release date. Additionally, you cannot place a single order that contains both a preorder and non-preorder item.
If you wish to order preorder items that have different release dates or a preorder and non-preorder item, please place those orders separately.
Why was my preorder canceled?
Preorder cancelations occur whenever there is an issue with the billing or shipping information. If our system is unable to authorize your payment method when preorders are processed for shipping, your order will be canceled and cannot be reinstated.
